Bank of India secures BBB ratings from Fitch and S&P for its US$1 billion MTN program

Bank of India recently announced ratings and assignments across several instruments from Fitch Ratings and S&P Global Ratings, including an initial BBB rating for its US$1 billion Medium-Term Note Program, equalized with its issuer credit rating of BBB/Stable/A-2 by S&P Global Ratings, and a corresponding BBB- rating assigned by Fitch Ratings, also linked to the bank's Long-Term Issuer Default Rating of BBB- and Government Support Rating of BBB-, both equalized with India's sovereign rating; S&P further affirmed a BBB+ rating on USD 500 million bonds, while Fitch assigned a 'BB(xgs)' LT (xgs) senior unsecured rating and a Viability Rating of 'bb', both aligned with the Long-Term IDR, and also provided a new rating of BBB- for senior unsecured obligations within the USD1 billion MTN Programme.

Bank of India receives BBB ratings from S&P Global, citing government support and stable outlook

Bank of India announced that S&P Global Ratings has assigned ratings, including an Issuer Credit rating of BBB (long-term) and A-2 (short-term), with a stable outlook, reflecting an adequate capital position and solid funding/liquidity, and also assigning a 'bbb-' rating which reflects the likelihood of extraordinary support from the government of India; S&P Global also assigned a Long-term Issuer Credit rating of BBB and a Short-term Issuer Credit rating of A-2, both with a stable outlook, alongside an Issuer Credit Rating of BBB/Stable/A-2, and Standard & Poor's assigned ratings of BBB/A-2 with a stable outlook, noting that the outlook reflects that on the sovereign and factors in a very high likelihood of government support; S&P Global Ratings expects a Risk-Adjusted Capital (RAC) Ratio of 7.
